Vedanta
The voyage
A high speed RHIB for day charters and transfers, not an overnight vessel.
Vedanta is the only vessel in this fleet that is not a boat you sleep on. She is a twelve metre RHIB built for speed and for the run out and back: Lembongan, Penida, the Gilis in a morning, Lombok or Komodo when the day allows. Alexis Dornier drew her with naval architect Tresno Seery, which is an unusual amount of design attention for a hull this size and shows in the way she handles chop. Shock absorbing seating, air conditioning, stability systems that keep twelve people comfortable at a speed that would otherwise punish them. The point of her is the time she gives back. Places that cost a phinisi most of a day to reach are an hour away, which means the water is still empty when you arrive and you are home for dinner.

Cabins and facilities
Spaces
A 12 metre RHIB from Outborn Watercraft, launched in 2024 and drawn by an architect rather than a yard. Twelve guests, two crew, no cabins, and 45 knots when the water allows. Here is how she is arranged.

The Deck
Twelve seats, all of them good ones
Seven shock mounted seats behind the helm, a bench across the stern, and sun pads up front for anyone who would rather lie down. Zipwake stabilisers under the hull keep it level at speed, so the coffee stays in the cup.

The Cockpit
Shade, and cold air
An enclosed cockpit with air conditioning for the crossing, the midday heat, or the one guest who burns. Fusion sound system, cold drinks and snacks within reach, and a captain’s seat nobody else is allowed in.

Range & Speed
Thirty two knots cruising, forty five flat out
Twin Yamaha outboards and a 255 mile range, which turns the Nusa islands into a morning and a surf break nobody else can reach into an afternoon. Night vision and radar for the run home after dark. Nobody arrives rattled.

Swim Platform
Out, and back
A removable ladder and a freshwater shower at the stern, so getting in is easy and getting out is pleasant. Snorkelling gear for everyone on board. Rod holders for anyone who wants to bring lunch back themselves.

Lunch
Ashore, mostly
No galley on a boat this size, which is the point. Lunch is a waterfront restaurant at one of the day’s stops, or a beach the crew knows, with snacks and soft drinks on board between them. Towels included. Sand not extra.
