Rascal
The voyage
Ten guests across five en suite cabins, built to order in Sulawesi.
Rascal was built to order in Sulawesi rather than bought off a broker's list, which is why the layout works the way it does. Five en suite cabins for ten guests, lounge areas on more than one level, and an infinity deck at the top that ends up being where the day finishes. Her water is Komodo and Raja Ampat, so the diving and the long crossings are both available on one charter. A chef aboard, a crew that has run this route enough times to know which anchorages are empty when, and an itinerary that gets decided with you rather than handed to you. Nothing about her is showy. She is a well built boat for ten people who want the park properly and do not need the vessel to be the story.

Cabins and facilities
Spaces
A 30 metre phinisi in ironwood, built in Sulawesi in 2015 by the same hands as her sister Rebel, with an interior that leans Hamptons rather than Bugis. Five cabins, ten guests, twelve crew. Here is how she is arranged.

The Cabins
Five cabins, ten guests
Five en suite cabins, each with air conditioning and a minibar. The master and cabin four upstairs, king beds with a daybed each and windows that wrap. Three on the main deck: two queens with big windows and a bunk cabin that sleeps three.

Roof Deck
Nothing between you and the horizon
An infinity roof deck for yoga at sunrise, sunbathing at noon and jumping off at any hour. Canapés arrive with the sunset without anyone asking. The foredeck by the bridge takes the front row seat for the crossing. Pick a level.

Aft Deck & Saloon
For slow mornings and slower afternoons
An aft deck with deep lounge seating and a view on three sides, made for the hours that do not need a plan. Inside, a saloon for a drink or two, a film library and a shelf of books and board games.

Dining on Board
From the galley
A sheltered deck table for all ten with the view all round and the sound system on low. Cooking classes for anyone curious, market visits in the villages for anyone more so. Dinner when the light goes.

Water Toys & Diving
Out, and back
Full scuba kit and a PADI instructor on board, certification on request. Four tandem kayaks, four paddleboards, water skis, a wakeboard and a towable mattress that is funnier to watch than to ride. Fishing gear and two tenders for everything else.

Beachside Escapes
Dinner, moved ashore
On the right beach the crew builds a pop up club for the afternoon and a pop up restaurant for the evening, with one table, one menu and no reservation needed. No other guests. No closing time.
