Kudanil Explorer
The voyage
Reaches Raja Ampat and the Spice Islands, where the rest of the fleet does not sail.
Kudanil Explorer works a different map. Where the phinisi fleet sails Komodo, this one runs to Raja Ampat, the Spice Islands, and the parts of the Coral Triangle that take days to reach. The distance is the point. Eight staterooms, each with a private balcony, mean sixteen guests aboard a fifty metre hull rarely feel like sixteen. Days are shaped by what the water offers rather than by a schedule: reefs with no other boat in sight, breaks that appear on no surf map, islands where the landing is the whole arrival. There is a wellness programme and a kitchen that treats provisioning at this range as the logistics problem it genuinely is. What you give up is the ability to change your mind quickly. What you get is a stretch of Indonesia almost nobody else is looking at.

Cabins and facilities
Spaces
A 50 metre steel expedition ship, launched in 1978 and refitted into something softer than her hull suggests. Eight identical cabins, sixteen guests, twenty one crew, and over 1,000 square metres to spread across. Here is how she is arranged.

The Cabins
Eight cabins, all the same, on purpose
Eight identical cabins of 30 sqm, every one above deck with floor to ceiling windows that slide open onto a private balcony. King bed or twins, en suite. No argument about who got the better room. Nobody did.

Monkey Island & Sky Lounge
Nothing between you and the horizon
Monkey Island sits at the very top with a jacuzzi and sunbeds. Below it, the Sky Lounge, one open flat deck with a bar, a dining table, sofas and daybeds, and more room than any boat this length has a right to. Pick a level.

Indoor Lounges
For the hottest hour, and after dark
A bar for the welcome drink, a library lounge for the quiet ones, a cinema for the night the stars are behind cloud. Woven ceilings, polished teak, bamboo lights and rope wrapped posts, so a steel ship feels like an old steamer inside.

Dining on Board
From the galley
A private chef cooking regional one day and western the next, at a table for sixteen. When a fisherman motors over with the morning’s catch, lunch becomes sashimi. Breakfast on your balcony if you ask. Cocktails on an old fort if one is passing.

Java Spa
A treatment room with a name
A dedicated spa room on the main deck, named Java, for massages and treatments between landings. Then the jacuzzi three decks up, then a daybed in the Sky Lounge, then nothing at all. The order is yours.

Launch Deck & Toys
Out, and back
Three tenders off the aft deck, so one group dives a wall, another paddles a lagoon and a third climbs to a nutmeg plantation. eFoils, jet skis, kayaks, paddleboards, surfboards, wakeboards, fishing gear and a floating pool for everyone else.
