Jinggo Janggo
The voyage
The smallest boat here, and the one a couple can take entirely.
Jinggo Janggo is twenty two metres with two cabins, which makes her the one vessel in this fleet a couple can charter whole without thinking hard about it. One of the two cabins takes an extra single, so five is the real number: a family with a child, or two couples with someone else along. The cabins are compact and honest about it. What you get instead is a boat where nobody is a stranger, a crew of a size that learns your names in a morning, and a chef cooking for five rather than fifteen. Her water is Komodo National Park and nothing beyond it, which suits her: no long crossings, no repositioning, just the park and the time to do it slowly. Snorkelling, the ranger walks on Rinca, and the sandbanks. It is the least expensive way into this fleet and not a lesser version of it.

Cabins and facilities
Spaces
A 22 metre phinisi built in Bonerate in 2001 and refitted twice since, sized for one family or one small party. Two cabins, five guests, and nobody you did not bring. Here is how she is arranged.

The Cabins
Two cabins, five guests
Two double cabins, one with a single bed tucked in for the fifth, and one bathroom shared between them. Simple on purpose, so the group spends its time on deck, not behind doors. Four adults and a child, or five adults.

Sun Deck
Nothing between you and the horizon
The sun deck does coffee at first light and the sunset at the other end, with the Komodo islands as the only backdrop. In between, a top deck for naps between activities. Pick a level. Change your mind later.

Lounge & Dining
Three hundred and sixty degrees of it
A dining area with a view in every direction, which is where the stories from the morning dive get taller. The foredeck belongs to the divers and their kit. The rest of the boat belongs to whoever gets there first.

Dining on Board
From the galley
Nasi goreng, sate ayam, gado gado and ikan bakar from a chef who works out of a small galley and never lets it show. International dishes when the table asks. Dietary requirements handled with notice, not fuss.

Dive Centre
Two a day, sometimes before breakfast
A Dive Master on board, Aqualung gear and a compressor, and sites tailored to whoever is diving. Two dives a day as standard, the odd night dive when conditions and the mood agree, and the early one before breakfast for those who are up.

Water Toys & Tender
Out, and back
Snorkelling kit for everyone, paddleboards for the coastline the boat cannot reach, and a 5.5 metre tender to run you to the reef and, eventually, back. Mantas at feeding time, if the guide has read the tide right.

Beachside Escapes
Dinner, moved ashore
A barbecue on an empty Komodo beach, a bonfire after, and a sky with no competition for the stars. Back on board, a duvet on deck for anyone who would rather sleep under them. No other guests. No closing time.
