Paving the Way for Sustainable Practices: OXO Zero Waste Training of Trainers

The training program was a strategic move by OXO to address the escalating concerns surrounding waste management and its impact on the environment.

In a groundbreaking move towards comprehensive sustainability, OXO is taking a comprehensive approach by intertwining our Zero Waste Training of Trainers initiative with strategic partnerships in composting and recycling. By scaling up education with action, OXO aims to create a holistic framework for environmental responsibility that extends from its internal operations to external collaborations with Urban Compost Bali and Eco Bali.

On January 26, OXO initiated a Zero Waste Training of Trainers program, underscoring our commitment to equipping staff members with the knowledge and skills needed to champion sustainable practices within our company. The training focused on composting and recycling, positions participants as peer trainers who will, in turn, educate and inspire fellow colleagues. This cascading effect ensures that the principles of responsible waste management become ingrained in OXO’s company’s culture.

The training program was a strategic move by OXO to address the escalating concerns surrounding waste management and its impact on the environment. By focusing on composting and recycling, the company is actively taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a greener and safer future.

To amplify the impact of our zero-waste initiatives, OXO has strategically partnered with Urban Compost Bali and Eco Bali, two pioneers in sustainable waste management. The collaboration with Urban Compost Bali enriches OXO’s composting efforts, ensuring that organic waste is repurposed into nutrient-rich soil. Simultaneously, the partnership with Eco Bali enhances OXO’s recycling vision, diverting a substantial portion of recyclable materials away from landfills.

Composting is a natural process that transforms organic waste into nutrient-rich soil conditioner. It plays a crucial role in diverting organic matter from landfills, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enriching the soil. Participants in the Zero Waste Training delved into the intricacies of composting, learning about the types of organic materials suitable for compost, the composting process, and the benefits of incorporating compost into landscaping and gardening.

While, recycling is another key component of the training, focusing on the importance of diverting recyclable materials from landfills. Participants gained insights into the types of materials that can be recycled, the recycling process, and the environmental advantages of recycling. OXO emphasized the significance of creating a closed-loop system where materials are recycled and reused, minimizing the need for raw materials and reducing waste.

The synergistic connection between OXO’s internal training program and external partnerships reflects a cohesive strategy aimed at addressing the entire lifecycle of waste. The Zero Waste Training of Trainers not only imparts knowledge but also serves as a catalyst for practical implementation. Peer trainers, armed with newfound expertise, become ambassadors for change within OXO, promoting composting and recycling practices at every level.

The participants in the Zero Waste Training are now equipped to become peer trainers within the organization. This means that the knowledge and skills gained will be disseminated to a broader audience, ensuring that OXO’s commitment to sustainability permeates throughout all levels of the staff. By empowering employees to be ambassadors of zero waste practices, OXO aims to create a culture of environmental responsibility within the workplace.

This Zero Waste Training initiative aligns with OXO’s broader commitment to sustainability. By actively addressing waste management and fostering a culture of responsibility, the company is taking significant real actions towards minimizing its environmental impact. OXO recognizes that businesses play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future, and initiatives like these showcase the company’s dedication to being a responsible corporate citizen.
