On February 26, 2025, OXO Group Indonesia successfully conducted the OXO Zero Waste Training: Practice & Hands-On Experience, a full-day workshop designed to strengthen waste management knowledge and practical skills across different departments. The training brought together cross-departmental participants from Sustainability, HR, Property Development, Finance, Property Management, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) teams. Through interactive workshops and field experience, participants gained valuable insights into waste separation, recycling, and composting, reinforcing OXO’s commitment to sustainability in daily operations.

A Full-Day Immersive Learning Experience

The day began with a Recycling and Waste Separation Workshop at EcoBali Recycling Center, where participants arrived at 9:30 AM after gathering at OXO Townhouse Berawa and OXO The Factory. This session provided an in-depth understanding of how different types of waste are processed, the importance of proper segregation, and how businesses can integrate zero-waste principles into their operations. Through hands-on activities, participants sorted and categorized waste, witnessing firsthand how effective waste management reduces landfill contributions.

After an engaging morning session, participants enjoyed a well-deserved lunch break at Sari Nadi Seafood from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. The break provided an opportunity for networking and discussions on how sustainability can be further embedded into different functions within OXO.

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to composting activities at Urban Compost, starting at 2:30 PM and running until 5:00 PM. This session emphasized organic waste management and how composting can be used as an effective solution to reduce food waste while enriching the soil. Participants learned about different composting methods, including aerobic and anaerobic techniques, and engaged in hands-on practice to turn organic waste into nutrient-rich compost.

A Step Toward a More Sustainable OXO

The training was not just an educational experience but also an essential step in aligning OXO’s departments with its zero-waste commitment. By equipping employees with practical knowledge and hands-on experience, OXO is fostering a culture of sustainability that extends beyond policies and into everyday operations. Participants left the session with a deeper understanding of waste management, new skills to apply within their respective departments, and a renewed motivation to drive zero-waste initiatives forward.

As sustainability remains a core pillar of OXO’s vision, this training is part of a broader effort to continuously educate and engage employees in meaningful environmental actions. Together, we are building a future where sustainability is not just a goal but a way of working.
